How to capture into aural form what your eyes have beheld? The question hung there in the three minds and opened the door for sonic space exploration within the HQ studio for the next month.
On December 13, 2012, the Geminids meteor shower filled the night sky while Gemini Revolution stood humbly on Terra Firma witnessing the spectacular view with awe and motivation.
What resulted was over fifty minutes of cosmic travel that consumed fuel provided by synthesizers, otherworldly voices, space bass, and sonic vibrations as three souls shimmered with expression.
The trick was to create music that took you up close to the passing meteors burning through the night but also let you feel the cold distance of lonely travelling for eternity searching for the end of the journey. Gemini Revolution also wanted to express the feeling of watching a static image stutter, flicker, and come to life for brief seconds and then revert back as if nothing had happened. It could be considered a metaphor for the human condition where we continue the routine of our lives and brief moments of unexpected beauty/grief/truth/fear/desire/exhilaration are interspersed occasionally.
Gemini Revolution is proud to bring you Geminids Vol. 1, the first in a series dedicated to night sky watching. Listen while staring up at the sky or just close your eyes and discover the universe behind those heavy lids.
